Type specimens and comparative material deposited in Peruvian entomological collections were the main basis for the study. Diagnosis, description, notes about biology, photos, and a distribution map are provided for this new species. Also, it is compared with the four previously described species in the genus Aryenis Bates, 1868, and a distribution map for the five known species is presented.
