Abstract

The first catalogue of Coleoptera type material preserved in the Hayk Mirzayans Insect Museum (HMIM) of the Iranian Research Institute of Plant Protection is presented. In total, the Coleoptera collection of this museum comprises 758 type specimens representing 150 species and 23 subspecies. Nine species are represented only by the holotypes, 30 species are represented by both holotypes and paratypes, and 111 species are represented only by paratypes. Two subspecies are represented by the holotypes, 19 subspecies by paratypes, and two subspecies by both holotypes and paratypes. Complete information for each type specimen, including label data, original and current status, bibliographic references, and a brief historical overview of the Coleoptera collection at HMIM, is provided.
